The Asene Manso Akroso District on Sunday 6th of March, 2022 celebrated the 65th Independence Day on the theme ” Working Together, Bouncing Back Better” at the Atweaman Senior High School Park with a colourful parade.
The District Chief Executive Hon. Alex Kwabena Incoom in his speech said he was highly honoured and privileged to address this important commemorative gathering. The DCE, stated that, last year’s celebration was an exception due to the ravaging spread of the second wave of COVID – 19 and was indeed glad and thankful to God that we are able to mark this day as we usually do.
The DCE said the theme for the celebration resonates with the times and seasons we find ourselves as a nation and was very appropriate and timely.
He further touched on the recent economic challenges the country is going through and that the government is mindful of the challenges confronting the citizenry and is doing all it can to address those challenges and bring relief.
In conclusion, DCE parted shoulders on the security agencies for their efforts at ensuring a colorful ceremony as well as the school children, the cadet corps, the traditional leaders and the general public for their support over the years and particularly availing themselves for the program.
Outstanding students and schools were awarded accordingly.
