The Asene Manso Akroso District Assembly on Monday 6th of March, 2023 celebrated the 66th Independence Day on the theme “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose” at the Atweaman Senior High School Park with a colourful parade.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Alex Kwabena Incoom in his speech expressed that he was very greatful to address this important commemorative gathering and made known to the public that, the theme for the celebration is centered on the need to promote unity, strength and purpose for ourselves as Ghanaians. He added that, Ghana is much admired to be the beacon of hope of democracy and economic gateway of Africa for that matter, there was the need to use the celebration platform to remind ourselves the need to uphold unity, which has become our strength and pride whiles we forge ahead with one purpose to make the nation great and forever live in peaceful co-existence in spite of our political religious and ethnics differences.
He concluded by using the opportunity to congratulate the immediate past BECE candidates for gaining admission into the various Senior High Secondary Schools across the length and breadth of the country and expressed his gratitude to all sponsors whose donation and support made the celebration a success.
A citation and a cash prize was given to Miss. Eugenia Pokuah Osei, 2021 BECE best student of Asuoso Basic School now in St Monica’s Senior High School.
The celebration was graced with cultural performance as well as a vibrant and patriotic match pass by Contingents of some selected schools.
In attendance were the DCE, Hon Alex Kwabena Incoom, DCD, Gladys Asamoah Addai, Hon. Assembly Members, Nananom, a cross section of AMADA staff, Clergy, Contingents of various schools, Media Houses among others.
