A district Composite Budget Hearings was held on the 12th of October, 2023 at the Conference Hall of Asene Manso Akroso District Assembly, where all the Budget Committee members of the district Municipal and District Assemblies participated. The exercise is obligated by Law under the Public Financial Management Regulations 2019, backed by Legislative Instrument 2378 hence the mandatory conduct of the meeting.
Essentially, the hearings are aimed at harmonizing the various budgets of the Municipal and Districts for onward submission to the Finance Ministry, to be incorporated into the National budget, so as to enable the districts to enjoy a fair share of the national cake for it’s developmental agenda. All five districts and Municipal Assemblies took turns to do a powerpoint presentation of their budget.
The participated Municipal and Districts Assemblies were Birim Central Municipal, Birim South, Akyemansa, Achiase and Asene Manso Akroso District Assemblies.
Diligently facilitating the exercise was a National Budget Team from the Regional.
